Weekend Miscellany

Happy Halloween All

A few things photographic for you to ponder over the weekend…

I just wanted to congratulate and commend everyone for the Red Brick.  The Exhibition looks great and reflects the talent and diversity of local photographers.  More specifically members of our club.  I have noticed an great improvement in the quality of work that we have been able to put on the wall since our first Exhibition.  Let’s keep up the good work.  A special thank you to the Red Brick folks for making the display possible and helping put together the advertising and reception on Thursday.  Likewise, special thanks to Lori and Sherry for their work on Thursday’s reception.  The event was well attended and a good time was had by all.

I noticed the contest page crashed again last night – this was due to the upload of an oversized file.  I think the problem has been solved but please remember to resize you entries to a maximum of 1200 pixels on the long edge.  Thanks.

A reminder of our November meeting on Monday night.  7pm start time at the Century 21 building.  To expedite the start of the meeting, I would ask that you try to send your ‘share’ images to me by email (same as contest, make them max 1200 pixels on the long edge and save as jpeg at about 80% quality).  Or, if you are going to bring on thumb drive, please arrive early for the meeting so I can get them transferred to my laptop.

For those who are interested in new gear or things photographic, McBain Camera is hosting their Annual Trade Show at the Butterdome in Edmonton tomorrow.  Information can be found on the McBain Camera website.

I think that’s it for now, have a great weekend and see you Monday.
