Workshop Recap

Workshop Recap

Well, here we are.  Another weekend to enjoy.  Seems like a weird week after having Monday and Tuesday off for the Dave Brosha workshop!  I, for one, could get used to a 3-day work week.  But I digress.  What a great couple of days for everyone involved.  I hope all of the Club members who participated found the workshop beneficial in one way or another.  Dave certainly has a great deal to offer and is more than willing to share his time and expertise.  There is so much I would like to say about the workshop itself – I hope I don’t get too verbose. First off, thank-you Michelle...

November Meeting

Just a reminder of the meeting tomorrow. Lock will be doing an editing tutorial on how to combine multiple photos into one. So if you were at the last outing and aren’t sure how to do it, bring your laptops to the meeting and we’ll do it together. Even if you didn’t make it to the meeting and just want to learn a new editing technique, bring your laptop. Also, don’t forget to bring your edit of the RAW file provided by Danielle at the last meeting. Shaun will be providing the RAW file this month. And of course, get those White on White images uploaded to this months photo challenge so we can have a look at...

October 2017 Outing

Well the month of October is quickly slipping by and our monthly club outing is getting closer and closer. As I recall from the October club meeting we discussed doing some Light-painting of Vintage Cars at Brian Pillage’s property. I contacted Brian about a week ago to ask if he would be interested in hosting our club again to capture some images of him and his antique Autos and he was very receptive to the idea. I suggested that, if possible, we could set up 2 separate areas with a car or truck as to avoid having too many of us gathered around 1 vehicle. I have some ideas on how we can “paint” some light on our...

The 7 Commandments for Great Photo Walks...

I’m not sure how many members visit the site Peta Pixel but I follow their twitter account and find myself clicking on a lot of their stories through the week. Today they posted an article that those of us taking part in the annual Scott Kelby Photo Walk might find useful: The 7 Commandments for Great Photo...

Our first Outing of the season is Sunday September 24th departing from the West End Tim Hortons parking lot and venturing down into the Coal Branch to walk a section of the abandoned train tracks and trestles to Mountain Park.  We will be leaving at 6:00am, as sunrise is at 7:23am. Prepare for cool, damp, and rugged conditions.  Sturdy foot wear is recommended, as the tracks have been reclaimed by Mother Nature in a few...

New Photo Club ‘Season’

posted on: Sep 2, 2017 | author: Julian Buchwald

As the Labour Day long weekend gets underway, it is hard to believe it is nearly 3 months since the Club last met.  Where does the time go?  I know some of us have been busy welcoming new family members and celebrating the milestones of existing kin folk.  I hope that everyone has had at least some time to feed the photographic hunger that burns within.  Summer tends to be a time when we are obligated to do other things and find it difficult to spend a lot of time making images.  But get clicking as a new Edson Photography Club season is nearly upon us.  Our first meeting will be Monday, September 11th at 7pm in the Century 21 building.  I have officially turned the reins of the Club over to our new President – Shawn Montreuil – who will steer the ship with an extremely able crew...
