Merry Christmas One and All

Santa Claus blowing snowflakes, Merry Christmas text

Here’s wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope the holiday season brings you and your families much joy and happiness that extends into 2017 and beyond.  And maybe a piece or two of new camera gear!

While turkey and the visions of sugar plums dance in your heads keep in mind that the next Club Photo Challenge is macro and images are due before the meeting on January 2nd.  While I’m at it then, that was the reminder that our next meeting is Monday, January 2nd at 7pm at the Century 21 office.  I’ll be there so the doors should be unlocked on time!  Cheap shot at Shaun – apologies.  Also, be giving some thought to our proposed January outing to Abraham Lake in mid-January.  For more information on this email Michelle or Shawn.

A couple of weeks ago an online photography group that I participate in asked members to reflect on their year in photography (2016) and post nine of their images that had special meaning to them along with comments on their year.  It was an interesting assignment that spurred some reflection and introspection that I enjoyed and found rewarding, if not a little challenging.  I don’t think we have time to review nine images from everyone at the meeting but I am extending this challenge to you all.  Pick your Favourite Four images from 2016 for sharing (you know the drill – usb memory stick) with the group and be prepared to share your photography achievements of 2016 and goals for 2017 in a brief statement (about a minute or so).  The images don’t have to be your best work as judged by other people but ones that represent what you like the best about what you accomplished in 2016.

Good Luck and I am looking forward to seeing and hearing your results.

So, once again have a Great Christmas and Holiday Season.  Happy shooting and see you all next year.

Julian
