Some Tips for Abraham Lake Outing (and winter photography in general)…...

Here is a list of some things I think are useful for our outing to Abraham Lake.  Knowing my memory it is not complete so what I hope is that members will join in the dialog with comments, additions and other thoughts as they see fit.  I have separated things into two lists:  Personal Items and Cold Weather Gear and Photography Specific Gear…   Personal Items and Cold Weather Gear Layered Cold Weather Clothing Gloves Snow/Wind Pants Balaclava Good Boots (preferably waterproof) Sweater/Fleece mid-layer Merino Wool Base Layer (top and bottom) Lip Balm to protect lips if it is particularly cold Good Ice Grips – the chain ones with long spikes are better than the little rubber guys...

October 2017 Outing

Well the month of October is quickly slipping by and our monthly club outing is getting closer and closer. As I recall from the October club meeting we discussed doing some Light-painting of Vintage Cars at Brian Pillage’s property. I contacted Brian about a week ago to ask if he would be interested in hosting our club again to capture some images of him and his antique Autos and he was very receptive to the idea. I suggested that, if possible, we could set up 2 separate areas with a car or truck as to avoid having too many of us gathered around 1 vehicle. Walking The Rails

Our first Outing of the season is Sunday September 24th departing from the West End Tim Hortons parking lot and venturing down into the Coal Branch to walk a section of the abandoned train tracks and trestles to Mountain Park.  We will be leaving at 6:00am, as sunrise is at 7:23am. Worldwide Photowalk 2017
