Afternoon at the Museum

Well here we are another weekend is upon us.  And a busy one at that with the tradeshow and other events and such going on around town.  And the highlight to be sure is going to be the photo club outing to the Galloway Museum tomorrow afternoon.  With Mike’s efforts, we are booked from 1pm to 3pm to take some pictures at the museum.  I visited earlier this week to see what we could look forward to and I think it should be fun and productive photographically.  Shari and her staff will set up a few of their ‘artifacts’ for us to explore photographically.  I think it would be good for us to meet as a group just before 1pm at the museum main entrance for a brief introduction from the Museum staff and some orientation before proceeding.  I would ask members to please RSVP by commenting on this post so we have an idea of how many will be attending – thanks.

Some thoughts on what to bring…

Giles and I will bring along an assortment of things we think will be helpful.  This will include some hotshot flashes with soft boxes and other light modifiers as well as remote trigger devices.  We will also bring a variety of backdrops that will be useful for making images.  I will bring along some unusual lenses for the group to have a look at and you are welcome to give these a try if you are lucky enough to have a Canon camera body.  Tripods will be important to bring as well as any macro gear you might have (close-up lenses, extension tubes).  There will be lots of opportunities without this type of gear so don’t worry if you don’t all the gizmos and gadgets.  Bring your gear and an open mind and flip the creativity switch to high and let’s have a good time.

Again, please RSVP and hope to see everyone there.
