Tool: BatchPurifier

After sorting through a handful of images to select a submission to this month’s photo contest, I was in need of a quicker way to remove all EXIF and IPTC data from my images. Enter BatcPurifier LITE. From their website: BatchPurifier LITE™ is a free edition of BatchPurifier™ that can remove metadata from JPEG picture files in batch. BatchPurifier LITE™ is able to thoroughly remove JPEG metadata such as EXIF (including thumbnail & geotag), Photoshop image resources (including IPTC), XMP, comments, ICC Profile, and other hidden data types while keeping the JPEG image intact and without degrading its quality. I found it very easy to use and extremely fast in execution. Grab your copy here: http://www.digitalconfidence.com/downloads.html  ...

As it indicates, it’s currently in ‘Draft’ status, so expected to find some errors or inconsistencies. As always, hesitate to let me know if you see anything that needs to be added or changed. Have a peek here: Edson Photography Club Web Guide...

Photo Contest Update

At Monday’s (November 4th) we introduced the photo contest with a little more detail, including how to make submissions.  We extended the timeline by one month to get the ball rolling.  The theme for this segment is VINTAGE.  All entrants may make 2 submissions – 1 in the themed category and 1 in the open category (see contest details if you are unsure about what this means).  Photos can be submitted in the member’s only area of the website and you will need a username and password.  These are available to paid members and can be obtained from Giles. Images submitted should be in a .jpg format with a long edge of no longer than 1024 pixels.  No...
