Abraham Lake Outing

Hi There Everyone Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the outing at Abraham Lake this weekend. The real world has stepped in (or stomped in) to change my plans. I was planning to make vegetarian chili for supper Friday evening, and bring a crockpot for steel cut oats in the morning. I hope someone is willing and able to step in with their own contribution. I apologize for the inconvenience. Have a fantastic weekend, it looks like the weather will hold and I will be thinking of you. I look forward to some beautiful images to share at the next meeting. Cheers!...

January Outing

Hey all- At the meeting we discussed the January outing. Shawn M had a good idea to go out to Abraham Lake (if you look it up it’s pretty cool, they have methane bubbles that freeze and make for some awesome photos). Who would be interested in going? It’s ~2.5 hours away. If you are interested, would you be interested in spending the night or just driving back that day? Would be January 21/22. Please reply as soon as you can, if we need to book rooms would be good to do it sooner than later. Thanks,...

Merry Christmas One and All

Here’s wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope the holiday season brings you and your families much joy and happiness that extends into 2017 and beyond.  And maybe a piece or two of new camera gear! While turkey and the visions of sugar plums dance in your heads keep in mind that the next Club Photo Challenge is macro and images are due before the meeting on January 2nd.  While I’m at it then, that was the reminder that our next meeting is Monday, January 2nd at 7pm at the Century 21 office.  I’ll be there so the doors should be unlocked on time!  Cheap shot at Shaun – apologies.  Also, be...

Red Brick Wrap-up

posted on: Nov 30, 2016 | author: Julian Buchwald

As November winds down, so does the time left for our 3rd Annual Autumn Print exhibition at the Red Brick.  It has been a successful display once again.  The addition of the People’s Choice voting seemed to be garner a lot of interest with the ballot box full when I visited on Monday.  They even ran out of the printed ballots (new ones on site now though). Our scheduled take down is the weekend of December 10th and the logistics will be discussed at Monday’s meeting.  Please be sure to make arrangements for your prints before the 10th if you can’t be there in person.  Also make sure all your friends and relatives have visited before the final day. Great work...

Monthly Photo Challenge Online Now

posted on: Nov 29, 2016 | author: Julian Buchwald

After hours of tireless work I think we are ready to go online with the Club’s monthly challenge.  This replaces the monthly contest and the intent is well described on the Challenge page.  Here are a couple of things you need to getting going and participate.  First, you will need to login as a club member before you access the Challenge page.  Once, logged in, use the pulldown menu at the top of the home page called Members Area and click on Monthly Photo Challenge 2017.  There is a description of the process here and a table with dates for submission as well as a list of the Challenge themes.  You submit your image by clicking on the desired theme button and away you go.  Images submitted by the posted deadline will be presented at the next meeting for review by the membership.  We will, however, not close submissions...

Couple questions on Monthly Photo Challenge

posted on: Nov 29, 2016 | author: Rachelle Roberto

Submission deadline for October is listed as December 31, 2016 – does this mean we are still able to submit for the month of October? The submission deadline for December theme says December 4th – is that correct? or is that supposed to be...
